The following services are
available at the Town Clerk's Office:
Dog Licenses are now
late. Please register your dog as soon as possible. The fees are:
$13.00 for spayed/neutered
dogs
$19.00 if not spayed/not
neutered
A valid rabies certificate
must be provided to the clerk. You may register your dog by mail
by simply sending the latest rabies certificate and fee, and a
description of your dog if it hasn't been registered here before.
DMV registration renewals
You can now renew your
registration online directly with DMV at
www.vermont.gov/expressrenewal
In our office, we can process
renewals that expire this month or during the two prior months, if there
are no changes. If the registration has been expired for a longer
period of time or if you are changing owners, etc., you need to renew
with DMV. To renew your registration, we need the renewal form
that was mailed to you, payment to DMV in the form of a check or money
order, and $3.00 payment to the Town (this can be cash or check).
Voter Registration You
can register to vote in the Town Clerk's Office or you can download the
form and mail it in. More information is available on the
Secretary of State's web site. Town meeting is held at the
Twinfield Union School. All other voting takes place at the Old
Schoolhouse Common. The deadline to register to vote is 5:00pm on
the Wednesday before any election.
Vital Records The Town
Clerk has custody of birth, marriage, and death records. Copies
are available - send a written request and $10.00 to the address at the
top of the page. Please note - some states are now requiring a
copy of a birth certificate in order to obtain a driver's license, but
at least one state (Colorado) will not accept a copy from a local office
- you will have to obtain a copy from the Vermont Dept of Public
Records. You may call them at 802-828-3286 for more information. |
